Sarah enjoying her lovelife, at last!

The picture of Sarah Geronimo with boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli and her friends Judy Ann Santos and husband Ryan Agoncillo (who posted it on his Instagram) has generated an approving reaction, especially from Sarah’s fans and people who genuinely care for and love her. The question is: Has Sarah finally (finally!!!) gotten the blessing from her parents (particularly her over-protective mom Divine) to enjoy her long-delayed lovelife? It’s about time since Sarah is turning 26 on July 25.

According to Funfare’s VDPA (Very Deep Penetration Agent), the picture (showing the foursome flashing wide smiles) was taken during a race “held in the south” which the group watched.

“Matteo was supposed to join the race but he wasn’t feeling well,” said the VDPA, “so he decided to just watch it with Juday and Ryan who are from the south and Sarah gladly joined but she was able to watch only the tailend of the race.”

It must be recalled that Sarah and Juday are good friends. It was Juday who was among the few friends who offered a shoulder for Sarah to cry on when she was having problems with Rayver Cruz (the boyfriend she almost but never had because he was reportedly to be “two-timing” Sarah who didn’t know that Rayver was also courting, or going secretly steady, with Cristine Reyes).

“Sunday, May 18, was a very happy day for Sarah and she spent the day with Matteo,” added the VDPA. “She won many awards that night. She was a winner in more ways than one…a winner in her career and a bigger winner in her personal life.”

After a few failed (read: abortive) romances with John Lloyd Cruz, Rayver and Gerald Anderson (who were forced to, uhm, “back off” by the blatant disapproval of Sarah’s parents), Sarah has all the right to be happy (in love), after all she has been working (“Like a horse,” as the VDPA put it) all these years.

I repeat what Tempo’s Ronald Constantino reminded Sarah during a presscon late last year, “Huwag mo nang pakawalan si Matteo. He’s a good catch. He comes from an influential family (the grandson of the late former Sen./Chief Justice Marcelo Fernan), maganda ang family background.”

The VDPA is quietly cheering at the background, “Love is finally winning! The ‘battle’ started to be won last March when Sarah graced as a VSG (Very Special Guest) at Matteo’s birthday.”

As they say, love conquers all…harangan man ng sibat!

Why Derek is in mourning

First, the sad news: Derek Ramsay contacted viral pneumonia due to exhaustion and fatigue from working five days straight, mixing the shoot for Viva Films’ Trophy Wife, the Amazing Race promo in Subic, Dunkin Donuts store appearances. “His immune system weakened,” said Derek’s manager Joji Dingcong.

Now, the good news: Derek has just checked out of Asian Hospital after being confined for a few days.

More sad news: Last Wednesday, Derek’s English bulldog named Beyoncé died, believed to have absorbed the negative vibes in Derek’s health system, and was cremated night of the same day. That’s why Derek is in mourning, super depressed, because he love(s) Beyoncé so much, perhaps a bit more than any girl he was romantically linked to.

Still another sad news: Derek’s first movie with Kris Aquino (who paid Derek a visit at the hospital as “a friend”), to have been produced by Regal Films, has been scrapped because ABS-CBN/Star Cinema (with which Kris is under contract) didn’t give Kris the go-signal. Reason: ABS-CBN management reportedly felt bad when Derek didn’t renew his contract when it expired in February 2012 and opted to jump ober da bakod to TV5.

Briefly noted

 Karylle and Christian Bautista reunited to perform at the conclusion of the World Economic Forum on East Asia. According to the two stars’ manager Carlo Orosa, among their songs were Awit ng Pagsinta (Rama Hari, with the Ballet Philippines), a solo medley of Pharrel William’s Happy and Bruno Mars’ Locked Out of Heaven by Karylle, and also a solo medley of Invincible-Titanium medley by Christian. The two made an impact in Asia when they starred in the TV series The Kitchen Musical which was aired throughout the region.

 Kelly Preston graced the ongoing Cannes Film Festival in a gown by Hollywood-based Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino. Best remembered for her performances in Jerry Maguire and Twins, Kelly attended 21st amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Charity gala at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the French Riviera. The sexy red-corded lace column gown had a unique feature of hand-sewn silk ribbons embroidered throughout the lace from top to bottom.

 2013 Miss World Megan Young, together with the Thank God I’m Filipino (TGIF) and Cambridge Fil-Am Group in cooperation with Miss World Organization’s Beauty With A Purpose, received a check for $5,000 at a fund-raising drive last May 16 at the historic Loeb House in Harvard University. Beneficiaries are the Yolanda victims. Also present were Consul General Mario Lopez de Leon Jr. and his wife Eleanor. Megan is set to visit Boston and then Barbados, and will fly back to New York City for a special event on May 27 and to lead the Philippine Independence Day Parade (along Madison Avenue in Manhattan) on June 1.
