Sunshine Cruz: 'I don't want to grow old alone'

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – Sunshine Cruz admits she hopes her annulment with estranged husband Cesar Montano will be finalized soon.

“Pinagpa-pray ko na ma-annul kaagad yung marriage namin para, of course, makapag-move on na rin ako,” the actress said in an episode of ABS-CBN morning show “Kris TV” aired Tuesday, May 13.

Sunshine and Cesar separated last year, following reports of the actor's alleged affair with model Krista Miller.

She added, “I don't want to grow old alone. Puro babae ang anak ko, iiwan ako n'yan.”

But Sunshine clarified, “ Pero sa ngayon parang di ko naiisip na magpapakasal ulit sa hirap ng dinaranas ko sa annulment.”

The 36-year-old actress also said she still has wounds that need healing, but she has also forgiven those who have hurt her.

“But I just hope na ma-appreciate naman nila yun. And in time, kung sino man sila, maging magkaibigan naman kami,” she said.

Asked what qualities she is looking for in a man, Sunshine said: “Kailangan tanggap ang mga anak ko. Tatlo yan, package deal kami. Kung hindi nila matanggap ang anak ko, goodbye.”

“At kung ano man ang past ko, ayoko ng may sumbatan. Kasi napagod na ako sa sumbatan,” she said.

Sunshine has three children with Cesar: 11-year-old Angelina Isabelle, eight-year-old Samantha Angelene, and seven-year-old Angel Franchesca.

In the same “Kris TV” episode, Sunshine's daughter Samantha said she and her sisters allow their mother to date again.

“Because she's already doing single and she's already okay. She could already handle herself. We will always support her,” Samantha said.
