Claudine on Marjorie: ' Pinatay ko na siya sa buhay ko'

MANILA, Philippines – The rift between the Barretto sisters continues.

 

In an interview with ABS-CBN's showbiz talk show “Buzz ng Bayan” aired on Sunday, May 11, Claudine Barretto opens up on the cause of her conflict with sister Gretchen in 2010.

 

“Nagpadala sila ng ambulansya sa bahay namin ni Raymart (Santiago, her estranged husband). Raymart was not home then.. Pumunta ako sa gate, nakita ko kaagad si Marjorie, andun sa Gretchen. Sabi ni Gretchen, 'Can I please go in?' And since kapatid ko naman siya, kahit di kami okay, pinapasok ko kasi I didn't know what this was all about,” the actress told “Buzz ng Bayan.”

 

She added that her sisters came with a pediatrician along with eight other men. “I asked my sister, I asked Gretchen, 'What is this?' Nakita ko kasi may straightjackets itong mga ito, e. And I said, 'What are you gonna get me for?' She just looked at her doctor and said, 'Do something!'”

 

“Sabi ko sa kanila, 'Saan? Sa drug addiction o sa mental illness? Kasi hindi ko alam. And then sabi niya, 'Basta doc, nag-overdose yan!'

 

The former ABS-CBN and GMA-7 star denied claims of mental illness, saying what she experienced from her sisters was “mental torture.” 

 

She called Gretchen “heartless,” saying her older sister “bullied” her and called her names.

 

“The day that she started talking bad about my kids on the phone, on speaker and Raymart was there. And Raymart, bahala na siya sa Diyos niya, he was there when Gretchen started calling them names. When she said na, ‘Wala ka ng career, baboy ka, lechon, wala ka ng power.' Sabi niya, 'You will never be back in this industry. Magpakamatay ka na lang, Claudine’,” Claudine said.

 

She added, “You know, Gretchen, you swear on your child’s life if you did not say that. I dare you, because you are such a liar.”

 

But the 34-year-old actress said she is most angry at Marjorie for instigating her rift with Gretchen.

 

“I always made life easy for my sister, for Marjorie. But she killed me when the day that tinanggal niya yung karapatan ko to see my nieces na pinalaki ko. Nakalimutan niya ako, yung ako talaga,” she said.

 

Claudine further said, “I don't know her anymore. And you know, I grieved for her. Pinatay ko na siya sa buhay ko. I will never, ever do anything to hurt my nieces.”

 

Adding that she misses her nieces, Claudine said she is proud of Marjorie's daughter Julia. “I love her so much. So, so much. Siya naman susunod sa trono ko, e,” she said of the young ABS-CBN actress.

 

In an statement sent to “Buzz ng Bayan,” Marjorie denied Claudine's allegations.

 

“Claudine, for your information, mom and dad begged us to rush to your house because your personal assistant told them you finished all your anti-anxiety medicine. We had with us a doctor and an ambulance from a very reputable hospital because we didn't want you to die, Claudine.” 

 

It added, “We were saving your life. Dad and mom, please don't deny the fact that the orders to rush her to a hospital came from both of you. We didn't not have a straightjacket. That is a lie. Claudine, we were protecting you, we didn't want you to die, most especially in front of your children.”
