All sorts of speculation circulated in the wake of the short-lived Kris-Herbert (a.k.a. Kristek) “work in progress,†with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista a poor victim of social-media bashers who virtually accused him of “abandoning†his family. A clarification: Herbert has only four children (not five as Funfare reported), two with his first serious relationship (with Miss “Eâ€) and two with Tates Gana who is popularly accepted as QC First Lady because she’s the one visible during Herbert’s campaign sorties and in attending to Herbert’s projects.
In fairness to Kris Aquino, she’s not a home wrecker as some quarters have been made to believe.
“There was never a home to wreck because Mayor Herbert never lived with any of the mothers of his children,†said somebody very close to Herbert. “He has been living alone; he’s a good provider who takes good care of his children,†most of whom are grown-ups.
Besides, added the Funfare Update source, “Mayor Herbert has been fancy-free for nine years now,†as he admitted in a recent issue of Esquire mag, having broken up with Tates in 2003.
“Tates got the sympathy because she was pictured to be an abandoned ‘wife’ which neither she nor the ‘first one’ was,†explained the source.
According to reports, Tates was so hurt by stories about Kris and Herbert that she decided to hie off to the States with her two children. She kept a distance from the media and, in fairness to her, never made any comment.
Kris’ marriage to James Yap was annulled and Herbert was never married so they are both eligible. The sad thing is that their romance was rudely interrupted by gossip, fed no doubt by Kris’ postings on her Instagram account, and it fizzled out even before it could start to bloom.
Maybe Herbert’s only fault is that up to now, he’s mum about the whole thing. Silence in some cases may be the most prudent option but not in a high-profile case like Kristek.
Meanwhile, watchers of KrisTV have been wondering what’s between Kris and 2013 Century Tuna Superbod winner John Spainhour who recently guested on the show. Oops! Wrong guy?
According to my trusted manghuhula, what fits Kris’ current “criteria†is somebody who must have a military degree (preferably from West Point); tall, athletic and intelligent; and with a brilliant legal mind so he can give Kris pieces of (legal) advice.
Is there’s such a man with those qualifications? Where on earth could Kris find him? Somebody help her, quick!
