MANILA, Philippines - When Sarah Geronimo cut her hair, showbiz-observers interpreted it as a form of ‘rebellion’ against her parents who were reported to be against Sarah’s relationship with Matteo Guidicelli. The good news is that Sarah’s parents have ‘relented’ and loosened their hold on Sarah who, turning 26 in July, has all the right to be in love with a man of her choice.

Same with Kris Aquino whose cut-hair decision was seen as her way of abruptly snipping in the bud her ‘work in progress’ with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista. Kris continues to wait or search for Mr. Right. Any ‘good news’ soon? Stand by.

These ‘short, short stories’ are nothing new. Back then, more than two decades ago, Demi Moore set a trend when she wore her hair short in Ghost, played with the same hairstyle by Cris Villonco in the musical version currently playing at the RCBC Theater, produced by Atlantis, until this weekend (May 10 and 11).

For practical reasons, having short hair is more comfortable in this scorching summer.
