MANILA, Philippines - Catch the exclusive behind-the-scenes story of the controversial news broadcaster Al-Jazeera in the 2003 war in Iraq. BBC filmed journalists from the satellite TV channel at its headquarters in Qatar. They witnessed how they delivered news amidst the conflict and reporting from an Arab perspective, giving fresh insight different from those in the west.
The crew focused on six staffers, following them as they angered the American and British governments by broadcasting controversial images of the conflict in Iraq to the world.
Al-Jazeera showed disturbing photographs of what happened in Iraq as Iraqi women and children were killed by bombs, US prisoners of war and uncensored images of deaths caused by the battle.
Al-Jazeera resided in Basra hotel. As the coalition forces came close to Baghdad, the Al-Jazeera office was hit by missiles from a US warplane, killing one correspondent.
