PBB new season: They are all in

MANILA, Philippines - Pinoy Big Brother, the most awaited reality competition on local TV, is back and the interesting twist is that regular housemates, teens and celebrities are all mixed in one house in this season’s edition, Pinoy Big Brother All In.

Since it premiered on ABS-CBN in 2005, Pinoy Big Brother has had several seasons that produced certified stars even from the non- winners. Nene Tamayo emerged champion of PBB Season 1, but Sam Milby turned out to be the biggest star that season has produced.

PBB 2 saw Beatriz Saw as winner, while Double Up, which saw twice the number of housemates (total of 26) inside the PBB house, yielded the Melason pair (Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco), with Melai as winner.

Unlimited, meanwhile, had the most number of housemates in one season (a total of 37), with Slater Young as champion. It was also the longest PBB season — 155 days — ever completed.

The first PBB Teen Edition brought to the public the Kimerald pair, with Kim Chiu and Gerald An- derson ending up as loveteam. Kim was the champion. Teen Edition Plus saw Ejay Falcon as the big winner, with Robi Domingo as runner-up. Robi is now one of the co-hosts of PBB All In.

Teen Clash produced Filipino- Australian winner James Reid, with Korean Ryan Bang as runner- up. Teen Edition 4, the season that concluded in July 2013, had Myrtle Sarroza as winner. The first PBB Celebrity Edition

had Keanna Reeves as winner, with John Prats as runner-up. John, as we all know by now, is also presently one of the co-hosts of PBB All In. PBB Celebrity Edition 2 had Ruben Gonzaga as champion.

PBB All In has a total of 18 housemates, an interesting mix of regular talents, teens and celebrities. Last Sunday, they all entered the newly refurbished PBB house. The first two housemates introduced in ASAP were the Jock Next Door ng Taguig Axel Torres and young ac- tress Jane Oineza as Rising Celebri- teen ng Quezon City. They were the first two housemates who entered the PBB house.

Three talents were revealed in Buzz ng Bayan — Biba Raketera ng Valenzuela Cess Visitacion, Sim- patikong Salesman ng CamSur Chevin Cecilio and Sweet Revela- tion ng Makati Nichole Baranda (also the daughter of model-TV host Phoemela Baranda).

All the rest were revealed in PBB’s primetime edition also last Sunday. Dancing Bombshell ng Boracay Aina Solano, Tatay’s Boy ng Batangas Joshua Garcia, Devoted Daughter ng Las Piñas Jaymie Ja- landoni and Wonder Son ng Que- zon City Manolo Pedroza.

Singing Sunshine ng Davao Maris Racal, Maginoong Marino ng Quezon Ranty Portento, Spunky Spiker ng Quezon City Michelle Gumabao (former DLSU volley- ball player and daughter of actor Dennis Roldan), Cutie Crooner ng Parañaque Jacob Benedicto, Tal-ented Darling ng Parañaque Loisa Andalio.

Twins Bobby Pagotan (a.k.a. Fourth) known as Brad Bait ng Pasay and Robert Pagotan (a.k.a. Fifth) known as Brad Kulit ng Pasay, Lady Mahinhin ng Negros Occidental Vickie Rushton (a for- mer Mutya ng Pilipinas Interna- tional title holder) and the biggest surprise of the evening was the entry of Alex Gonzaga, the Sassy Sister ng Rizal.

The group may be an interesting mix, but not a few viewers com- mented all the housemates are look- ers so it’s not easy to single out one. It’s probably still too early for view- ers to take their pick, but eventually, one housemate will definitely stand out from the rest to emerge as Pinoy Big Brother All In winner.
