Miss Earth candidates at Pico de Loro
NASUGBU, Batangas , Philippines — SM Land’s Pico de Loro Cove at Hamilo Coast, the premier coastal resort town and residential leisure destination development in Nasugbu, Batangas, recently welcomed to its shores the 25 of the 49 candidates of Miss Philippines-Earth 2014 for its annual tree-planting activity and swimsuit competition.
Pico de Loro Cove has been the venue for different pre-pageant activities of the Miss Philippines-Earth and Miss Earth International since 2008. The candidates representing different regions of the Philippines, who participated in the tree-planting activity held at Pico Sands Hotel’s organic farm, were happy to do their share in helping preserve the natural beauty of the environment through an eco-tourism program. The management also does solid waste management, organizes regular coastal clean-ups and practices the use of renewable energy.
Nineteen-year-old Jamie Herrel of Cebu City bagged the best in swimsuit award while Miss Muntinlupa City Sarah Theresa Stewart and Miss Duenas-Iloilo Ma. Bencelle Bianzon placed first and second, respectively. Also present during the weekend affair were Taal Vista area general manager Walid Wafik, Pico Sands Hotel and Pico Beach & Country Club general manager August Samala, SM Hotels and Conventions executives Neil Rumbaoa, Treena Tecson and Celine Arenillo.
The event is presented by SM Land, SM Hypermarket, SM Supermarket and Savemore Market with exclusive coverage of media partners The Philippine STAR and ABS-CBN.
The Miss Philippines Earth 2014 coronation night will be held on May 11 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
