Kambal Sirena, Innamorata stars wow Cebuanos

MANILA, Philippines - Cebuano fans came in droves at two Gaisano malls to see their visiting idols from the Kapuso programs Kambal Sirena and Innamorata recently.

Last March 29, an estimated crowd of 3,000 showed up at the Gaisano Island Mall in Mactan, where Kambal Sirena lead stars Louise delos Reyes, Mike Tan and Aljur Abrenica entertained the audience with individual performances during the Kapuso Mall Show.

Mike started the merriment with classic OPM music. When it was Aljur’s turn, he performed a medley of Maroon 5 songs. Louise followed with a Selena Gomez-inspired song number.

Prior to the mall show, the three GMA Artist Center talents graced a regional press interview where they shared a few things about their show, which airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad after 24 Oras.

Asked about her reaction on Kambal Sirena being one of the strongest GMA shows, Louise said, “Honestly, hindi ko talaga alam kasi masaya lang ako sa ginagawa ko. Sa lahat ng natatanggap kong projects, binibigay ko lang ‘yung best ko. Maybe, we’re really just passionate (about our work) and that it registers on TV, and is seen by viewers who, in turn, get affected.”

For his part, Aljur shared that he’s aware of the competition but is motivated to give his best, “Before we started, I had no expectations. We’re aware of the competition but we don’t think about it. Our focus is on what we can do as actors, and thank God this is the result. We are very grateful for the positive feedback.”

Mike admitted that he is challenged by his role. “Honestly, my role has taken me by surprise because initially, I thought it was easy to do. Sometimes, it can be frustrating na bakit hindi ko siya magawa. It’s a ‘light’ character but how to portray it is a challenge.”

Meanwhile, despite the thick, gray clouds and the strong winds that enveloped Cebu last March 22, a multitude of Cebuanos came to watch the Innamorata cast members Max Collins, Luis Alandy and Dion Ignacio perform during the Kapuso Mall Show held in the open grounds of the Gaisano Grand Fiesta Mall Tabunok.

Given the reception shown by the Cebuanos at the event, which drew a crowd estimate of 5,000, the trio could not help but be overwhelmed.

“Talagang nakakataba po ng puso ang ipinakita ninyo sa amin ngayon,” said Dion.

Luis, on the other hand, promised the audience a more exciting turn of events in the series.
