Kapuso observes Holy Week
MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network brings a special holiday treat to its viewers starting Maundy Thursday, April 17, as it airs well-loved movies and shows in commemoration of the Holy Week.
On Maundy Thursday, GMA 7 airs God’s Little Children starring Sunshine Dizon and Daria Ramirez. Before noon, watch Free Willy 3: The Rescue that shows how teenage orca-researcher Jesse (Jason Richter) and his old friend Randolph (August Schellenberg) try to stop an illegal whaler threatening Willy the whale and his pregnant mate. By noontime, the Kapuso station airs Marley & Me, starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, which is about the story of a family who will learn lessons from their adorable dog Marley. Get ready for an afternoon filled with love via A Walk to Remember — which stars Mandy Moore and Shane West — the big-screen adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel. After the Hollywood movies, witness Johnny Delgado, Cherry Pie Picache, Angel Aquino and Juliana Palermo in the Filipino drama Kaleldo. By evening, watch Banal na Paglalakbay to be followed by the Regine Velasquez-topbilled romantic film Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigan Ka.
On Good Friday, April 18, catch the drama film Grepor “Butch†Belgica Story, which features the life of a notorious teen convict played by Joko Diaz. Then, join the whole family in watching the animated film Pokemon: Pikachu’s Summer Festival. To be aired next is Power to Unite with Elvira and Siete Palabras, which will teach ecclesiastical lessons to the viewers. Filipino movie marathon then follows with Jodi Sta. Maria’s Birhen Manaoag, Maricel Soriano’s Inang Yaya and Sharon Cuneta’s Crying Ladies.
On Black Saturday, April 19, witness the heartwarming story of Crisanta (Judy Ann Santos) who was abandoned by her mother to marry a foreigner Silang mga Sisiw sa Lansangan.
