Celebs hail Manny’s win on Twitter

MANILA, Philippines – Celebrities immediately took to social media to laud the victory of Manny Pacquiao against Timothy Bradley at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday afternoon, April 13 in Philippine time).

Pacquiao scored a 12-round unanimous decision against Bradley, reclaiming the World Boxing Organization welterweight world title he lost from the American boxer in 2012.

“Congrats Manny” immediately became the top trending topic on Twitter Philippines after Pacquaio's win. The keywords “Mommy D”, “Round 12” and “Unamimous Decision” as well as the hashtag #PambansangKamao became top trending topics on the social networking site as well.

“And Pacman has done it again!!! Mabuhay ka!!!” tweets Broadway star Lea Salonga.

“Great night for The Philippines,” tweeted British television host Piers Morgan.

“I think Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather should fight each other as the last fight for both of them,” retired boxer Lennox Lewis said on his Twitter account.

A number of netizens even joked about Mommy Dionisia, the mother of Manny, who was in Las Vegas to watch the fight. Some also poked fun of Manny's tax problems last year.
