MANILA, Philippines - John Isner aims to be the first player to successfully retain the crown since Andy Roddick won it in 2001 and 2002, when the ongoing Fayez Sarofil & Co. US Men’s Clay Court Championship is taking place in Houston, Texas until April 13.
Isner, who is making his sixth appearance at the tournament, bagged his first career title on clay after he beat Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 7-5 last year.
This year, the River Oaks Country Club will host a tournament for the 80th time since its inauguration in 1931. The upcoming tournament will also mark the 104th staging of the US Men’s Clay Court Championship.
