Aliwan Fiesta Dance Crew League

MANILA, Philippines - The Dance Crew League ushers in this year’s Aliwan Fiesta celebrations, with the fiercest routines and the freshest grooves set to converge at the Aliw Theater stage for the April 10 and 11 eliminations to determine the dance groups that will battle it out on April 24.

Presented by Manila Broadcasting Company and Star City, and line produced by Reflex, the Dance Crew League will feature the crowd-drawing battles among crews along with the flashy one-on-ones among BBoy/BGirl hopefuls from various parts of the country. At stake are P100,000 and a trophy for the grand prize winner in the dance crew showcase, and P10,000 each for the champion BBoy and BGirl.

The Dance Crew League final marks the opening salvo of this year’s edition of the Aliwan Fiesta, a mammoth cultural spectacle that brings together about 5,000 of the country’s top dancers and artisans, plus a bevy of beauty queens from the different regions. Co-presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in cooperation with the cities of Manila and Pasay, the Aliwan Fiesta is now on its 12th year and prides itself in being tagged as the festival of champions. Aliwan will also feature the Search for Festival Queen on April 25 and the grand parade on April 26, which kicks off at the Quirino Grandstand at 4 p.m., where festival contingents from all over the country vie for the million-peso grand prize in the culminating showdown.

A preview of the color, pomp and pageantry that mark the annual Aliwan Fiesta will be on display in a grand photo exhibition at the events center of Fisher Mall along Quezon Blvd. and Roosevelt Ave. in Quezon City until today.
