MANILA, Philippines - Enjoy a musical escape with UK’s fast-rising pop-rock band The 1975 with its series of live performances at Ayala Malls.
The Manchester-based quartet is composed of Matthew Healy (vocals, guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass), Adam Hann (guitar) and George Daniel (drums). They all met at school in their early teens and since then, they’ve been writing songs and playing music.
The 1975’s eponymous album, which was released September 2013 to critical acclaim and has already earned worldwide sales of over 250,000, was recorded in Liverpool’s Motor Museum, and produced by drummer George and frontman Matthew with Mick Crossey (Artic Monkeys, Foals).
The band’s album hosts a collection of sounds venturing away from just guitar tracks to electronic indie-pop. The perfect blend of dance-rock and pop hooks proves that good pop music can be played with a guitar, and good rock can have pop appeal.
The 1975 is all set to continue its ascendency throughout 2014, following the breakthrough success of its hits from its debut album — Chocolate (voted No. 1 Hottest Record of 2013 by BBC Radio 1 listeners), The City and Girls.
