Liza Dino is back to acting

MANILA, Philippines- Liza Dino is happy to be back in acting.

She will be part of the upcoming TV series “Mira Bella” which stars Enrique Gil, Julia Barretto, and Sam Concepcion. She will play here the role of Aster, the mom of Sam Concepcion.

Liza says that this project came two days after she decided to stay in the Philippines and to continue looking for acting opportunities here.

“Naaalala ko ‘yon, I was leaving for the States kasi nagde-decide ako if mag-stay lang ako dito for six months or babalik-balik,” she recalled.

Then her partner Aiza Seguerra gave her a piece of  advice. “Sabi niya, ‘you know, mahirap ‘yong half-hearted ka. Para dumating sa ‘yo ang blessings kailangan take the risks. Hindi rin ibibigay sa iyo â€˜yong blessings kasi gusto mo sa States, gusto mo dito.’

“So sabi ko, sige pikit mata, I’ll stay in the Philippines. Alam mo two days after tinawagan ako ng manager ko to present and told me na mayro’n akong show. So talagang blessing talaga.”

Liza actually gave up her career in US as a chef to pursue her “first love” which is acting. Liza is not new to acting, and has actually won as best actress at the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival for the New Wave category film “In Nomine Matris.”

“First TV ko ‘to, e, after I left for the US,” Liza said. “So talagang ito ‘yong isa sa mga signs na hiningi ko noon especially moving here with Aiza and everything, going towards that direction na.

“So siyempre malaking bagay sa akin na magkaro’n ako ng trabaho dito na puwede ko sabihin na can sustain naman me here. Kasi it’s a big move from US to here. So I’m very thankful sa Dreamscape kasi since umuwi ako dito, siguro mga two months pa lang, kinausap na nila ako for this soap [opera].”

Wedding Plans

Meanwhile, though busy with their own commitments, Liza and Aiza still manage to work on their wedding next year.

Liza is also glad to see how hands-on Aiza is for the details of their wedding. “Between the two of us si Aiza ang maraming ideas,” she relates with a laugh. “Ako siguro more on wedding preparations, mayro’n lang akong wedding dress ganyan.

“Pero si Aiza sa aming dalawa siya ‘yong maraming pegs, maraming mga look ganyan. So we’re working with a good team, mayro’n na kaming choices in terms ng mag-style ng wedding namin.”

Though there’s a wedding here in the Philippines, Liza reveals that “if everything works out, maka-fly kami sa US for our own little ceremony there para ma-legalize ang wedding namin.”
