Sarah & Matteo: What's the real score?

So, what’s the real score between Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli? Some sources say they have called it quits. Others opine they are in that stage of getting to know each other. But neither one of them is denying that they are playing beautiful music together, nor that they have broken up. No one is also saying that they are officially together. Audiences are always in suspended animation.

Everybody knows that whatever happens in Sarah’s love life is a well-guarded secret. Each time she is linked to an actor, all insinuations about a supposed romance end up as rumor. Except for the Rayver Cruz episode.

Matteo, the most recent actor being linked to Sarah, has always been an admirer of the singer/actress. He always watches her concerts and it is in one of these concerts where he got to know the Pop Princess through Billy Crawford who is a close friend of Matteo and who was one of Sarah’s guests. Some people say that Matteo sent “feelers” about his wanting to court Sarah. But then, Rayver had Sarah’s attention.

Then, came the movie Catch Me I’m In Love, topbilled by Sarah and Gerald Anderson. Matteo was also cast in the film. Showbiz was abuzz with stories about Gerald’s giving special attention to Sarah. In the meantime, Matteo only had eyes for Maja Salvador.

At a US tour in the most recent past, where Matteo was again a special guest of Sarah, people were surprised to see the apparent sweetness of the two: Instances where Matteo is seen kissing Sarah’s hands, and of those loving glances.

July of 2013, during Sarah’s birthday dinner held at her house, Matteo was one of the special guests.  If rumors are to be believed, Matteo was the only celebrity invited. It was because, according to the grapevine, Sarah’s parents have given their approval. And onetime, Matteo and Sarah were seen walking around, holding hands in the subdivision where Sarah lives.

People were also expecting Matteo to be around during Sarah’s concert late last year at the Araneta Coliseum. Instead, he was seen watching the repeat in Cebu. Matteo, according to some, even shared a photo of him and Sarah through Instapost.

Matteo is not confirming or denying any relationship with Sarah. But as they say, action speaks louder than words. In an interview with Buzz ng Bayan recently, Matteo let out a few but meaningful words. “Gusto ko talagang sabihin. But I don’t think it is the right time. I wanna respect whatever Sarah and I have.”

Asked if it was Sarah’s parents on why he is hesitant on saying anything about Sarah, Matteo said, “Lahat e. Hindi lang yun. I don’t know. In the right time, we’ll see. I don’t want to hide anything. I wanna promise you guys, kaya I don’t wanna say anything, one day, one time.”

Sarah, according to Matteo, is very special to him. And she is his inspiration. “In life, you work hard on anything that you really want. In the end, when you get it, it’s very nice. People who work hard on something, good things happen, di ba?”

Lately though, some sources say that Sarah’s father went ballistic when he learned that Sarah and Matteo went malling without his consent. And it was only Sarah’s mother who gave the permission for her daughter to go malling with Matteo. However, in a blind item on  Push.com, it was alleged that Matteo and Sarah have called it quits to the chagrin of many who say that they have not even admitted to the public that they were “on” in the first place. The reason for the supposed break-up was Sarah’s forthcoming movie with Coco Martin

The break-up rumor runs counter to some tweets by Sarah’s supporters that they have just seen the couple attending a service together at the Victory Church at the Fort.

However, in an exclusive interview with the Buzz ng Bayan, on location of her latest movie with Coco, Sarah denied being with Matteo at the church. She also denied rebelling against her parents and being depressed, as alleged by showbiz tabs. “Wala kaming control kung ano ang gusto nilang sabihin,” Sarah said. Asked whether her  father is sore at Matteo, Sarah begged off, “Please po, hindi po talaga ako handa sagutin mga ganyang tanong.”

Matteo, on the other hand, was more nonchalant when asked by host Luis Manzano of Minute to Win It. “Hindi ko naman tinatago, hindi ko lang sinasabi.”

So, was the bouquet of flowers Matteo gave Sarah during Valentine’s Day while the latter was rehearsing ASAP 19, proof that something sweet and beautiful is happening between the two of them?
