MANILA, Philippines- Maggie Wilson is very happy with her life as a married woman.
Three years after marry thing real estate mogul Victor B. Consunji, and two years after giving birth to their firstborn Connor, she is now somehow back to work.
She left the industry for a while to focus on her family life, and now “somehow back†to her work, but not yet on TV.
“My husband already wanted a child after we got married, so I had to give up my TV career and focus on building my family,†Maggie relates in an interview Wednesday evening, March 5.
They celebrated their third year anniversary last December 18, and her husband surprised her with a "trip to Balesin."
"And what [further] surprised me is that he bought shares there so I was able to enjoy the beach and go there with him and my girl friends.â€
For marriage to work, Maggie says that it takes a lot of commitment and communication, especially as her husband is busy with his business.
“I learned to be more patient with him,†she says. “As his business gets bigger, he’s getting busier as well.
“So we learned to always make time for each other to make the marriage work because if everyone is so busy with work and we don’t make time for each other, obviously we won’t have a happy relationship.â€
Last week, Maggie got her hands full preparing for the party of her son Connor who turned two-year-old on February 28.
“For me he’ll remember more his second birthday than his first, so I kind of went all out this year,†she relates. “It was Barney-themed. We did it in the clubhouse of our village. I really didn’t hire a person to create the party, I did it all on my own.â€
Back to Work
Meanwhile, Maggie is happy to be back to work, though for now that doesn’t include being back on TV.
“I’m back in the makeup school training as a teacher so I can teach personal makeup classes,†she says “I’m also working on a resort wear line to add to my swimsuit line.â€
Maggie started her swimsuit business Wanderlust back in 2012. She adds that the swimsuit brand is “proudly Filipino made.†She also personally designs each piece, which is kind of easy for her since she loves "going to the beach.â€
“I design the swimsuits catered to the different shapes of women and also the needs of certain women,†she says describing her designs. “Some of them have stretch marks that they want to cover, so we have one-piece swimsuits and high-waist bikinis as well.â€
At present, Wanderlust is available at Common Thread and Greenbelt 5 or can visit their website, www.bemywanderlust.com
