Deo Gratis! at the Met March 8

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Theatre Chorus under the musical direction of Dr. Myrna Ascutia Lopez will give a free concert titled Deo Gratis on March 8, 8 p.m. at the EDSA Shrine Chapel, Ortigas Ave., Quezon City.

The Met Chorus was organized by the Metropolitan Theatre in Manila as official choral group and resource for artists. It performed for the Metropolitan Theater’s productions like Gomburza, Sarungbanggi, Dahil sa Iyo and Ginintuang Alaala. The Met Chorus was under the helm of Lopez, an exceptional musician and mentor. Brilliant performers have risen from the Met Chorus — Isay Alvarez and Jonjon Briones of Miss Saigon and stage-TV actress Beverly Salviejo. Lopez, mother of Camille Lopez Molina, renowned soprano now based in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.

 Listen to the music of great Filipino composers Lucio San Pedro, Alfredo Buenaventura and Ruben Federizon in an evening of kundiman songs, regional, patriotic and novelty songs.
