Piolo-Toni starrer hits P300M

Star Cinema’s Starting Over Again has earned P300M. Considering that it’s just on its second week of showing, it is on its way to being one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. Its lead stars Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga and Iza Calzado do their job with diligence and bravado. The movie tells the love story between Ginny (Toni) and Marco (Piolo) who met on campus as student and professor. They fell in love but their relationship abruptly ended when she left for Barcelona for no obvious reason. When Ginny returns, she finds herself wanting to rekindle her past romance with Marco but he has already found someone new.

The team-up of Piolo and Toni started 10 years ago in a softdrink commercial where he was the main endorser. Who would ever forget Toni screaming “I love you, Piolo”? The TVC paved the way for the young Toni to enter showbiz and the rest, as they say, is history.

Piolo previously admitted that they once dated but he did not want to hinder her showbiz dreams. Meanwhile, Toni said they are better off as friends. She chortled, “Pasalamat ko nga na sa iba siya na-link. Niloloko nga ako dati sa The Buzz nina Ate Kris (Aquino), Tito Boy. Sabi ni Ate Kris, ‘Ayan, kaartehan mo, na-link na sa iba. Hindi na ikaw.’”
Toni added, “Actually, nasabi kong okay, kasi imagine, kung nagkaroon ng something, tapos hindi naman nag-develop or hindi naman na-pursue, magkakaroon ng ilangan.”

Piolo and Toni may not have ended up together but they are now happy in their respective relationships. Piolo is being linked romantically to Shaina Magdayao. Although they both claim to be just good friends, many believe there is something special going on between the two stars. On the other hand, Toni is happily in love with direk Paul Soriano. They have been together for several years now and the public is now waiting with bated breath on the celebrity couple’s announcement of their altar date.

John-Isabel not yet engaged

Speaking of being ready to settle down, it looks like John Prats has finally found the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. Although Pratty is very vocal about his love for Isabel Oli, he admitted that they are not yet engaged.

In his recent interview in Tapatan ni Tunying, he revealed that his ideal age for marriage is 30 years old. “Ako, finally masasabi ko na siya, nahanap ko na iyong taong alam kong susuportahan ako, na nandiyan sa likod, na kaya niyang isakripisyo ang career niya at iyong personal niyang interest para alagaan ako at suportahan.”

Pratty celebrated his 30th birthday last Feb. 14. Asked when they are going to get married, his suspenseful reply was, “Hindi na siguro magtatagal.”

One thing that ideally comes with a person’s age is his maturity. And it shows in Pratty when he talked about marriage. “You don’t want to fail your family. You don’t want to fail your wife, your kids. So it’s no joke. So for me, isip-isip muna tayo ng isang milyong beses bago natin pasukin. Di mo na maibabalik iyo.”

Cristine-Rayver rekindling romance?

Are Cristine Reyes and Rayver Cruz ready to rekindle their romance? Cristine recently posted their photo on her Instagram account. It looked like Cristine and Rayver were inside a mall in Dubai where they performed for ASAP. Although there was no caption, Cristine put three heart emoticons. Netizens are now wondering if they are giving love a second chance.

Cristine and Rayver broke up in 2012 but they remain good friends. She then dated Derek Ramsay but the relationship didn’t work out.

Rayver said in his earlier interview that he doesn’t foresee any reconciliation between them as of this time but who knows what the future holds for these two young stars?
