Did the actor really get his handler pregnant?

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

Three blind items to activate the gossipy side of your brain:

The manager of a young actor (notorious for being fast with the girls) is in a fighting mood. You see, the ex-actress/girlfriend is threatening to expose the well-kept secret sex life of the actor, including how he got his pretty handler pregnant (must have given birth by this time).

That’s one of the reasons why, according to Funfare’s VDPA (Very Deep Penetration Agent), the ex-girlfriend broke up with the actor (that is, aside from his “bad habits”). She got depressed after she learned about the sad truth, feeling betrayed --- you know, why, wasn’t the actor contented with the TLC (Tender Loving Care) that she was showering him with? Was he, perhaps, suffocated by the TLC that drove him to exhale in the welcoming arms of the other girl who gave him more than a tight hug?

The sweethearts split up after a five-year relationship that was tainted with unsavory rumors which, understandably, the un-couple vehemently denied. But now that they’re apart, as the popular line goes, she’s raring to, well, open a Pandora’s Box. As they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

If the ex-actress/girlfriend pushed through with her plan to expose the actor, his manager is ready to also “tell all,” though the heavens fall. Stay tuned. Don’t change channels otherwise you might miss the “main event.”

Scan showbiz history and you’ll find stories about over-protective parents (stage moms?) fighting tooth and nail to stop their daughters from falling in love with men not to their (the moms’) liking. In fact, some of today’s couples have survived that kind of violent parental objection. Eventually, the mothers understood that their daughters also have the right to love and be loved by men of their own choice sapagkat, to paraphrase two songs, sila’y tao rin naman na may pusong hindi dapat pigilin.

Case in point: Mother and daughter haven’t been on speaking terms because the mother frowns on the guy the daughter has fallen for. The girl has the incurable habit of posting on social media pictures of her and the guy’s activities, including intimate ones, and the guy’s family is embarrassed by it all because they feel that the sweethearts’ brazen openness is adversely affecting the reputation of the family and is not favorable to the guy’s standing in his own field.

So the girl’s mother dislikes her daughter’s boyfriend with impunity and, according to Funfare’s sources close to the guy’s family, “His mom doesn’t like the girl even more.”

Will the sweethearts end up happily ever after? Or, just like most showbiz couples, simple good friends “even after” their very transparent romance (that is, if their respective moms succeed in tearing them apart).

Despite their public announcement that they are engaged, a celebrity couple insists that marriage is still too far away…that is, maybe 10 years from now. In the meantime, they are happily living together perhaps to find out if they are really compatible. Meanwhile, a very popular couple has been telling their close friends that yes, indeed, they are getting married next year. In the kind of field they are in where temptation lurks at every corner, so many things can happen in 10 years (in the case of the first couple) or in one year (the second couple). All we can say to both is, well, good luck!

Anne is happily 29

Last Monday (Feb. 17), Anne Curtis celebrated her 29th birthday with a thanksgiving merienda for movie writers. No, Anne didn’t “buy” the guys (joke!) but regaled them with a raffle of prizes donated mostly by companies she’s endorsing (GSM Blue, Swatch, WOW Grand Videoke and Cherry Mobile) and which sponsored the affair together with American Tourister, Lactacyd, Belo Deodorant/Belo Sun Expert, Avon, Athena, SM Accessories, Primadonna, Eureka, Friday’s and Wrigley’s Double Mint Gum.

Recovered from that “incident” last year, Anne said that she’s ready to face another busy “Annebisyosa” year packed full with big projects: Her Kapamilya series Dyesebel which starts airing early next month, the movie The Gifted, directed by Chris Martinez, which reunites her with Cristine Reyes (after the 2012 searing drama No Other Woman) and Sam Milby, her second album (follow-up to her surprise platinum-hit debut) and her repeat concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in May.

Also, catch Anne as she takes viewers on an adventure in Jeepney TV’s BTS special, Annestopable, airing on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 9 p.m. on SkyCable Channel 9. For updates, visit and like Jeepney TV on Facebook (www.facebook.com/JeepneyTV).

Aired at the merienda were the taped greetings of Anne’s friends, including her on-leave It’s Showtime co-host Vhong Navarro who has apparently recovered enough to crack a little joke as he apologized for not being able to attend, “...Anne, pag-uwi mo, nandoon na ako sa condo mo,” presumably with a supot-ful of foods (hehehe!!!).

The problem with being a Tulfo

It happens to his brothers Mon, Raffy and Erwin, and so does to Ben Tulfo (photo) — being used by impostors to extort money from unsuspecting victims.

Ben has just been told that one such impostor has been using his name in extorting money from Mayor Minda Tan of Las Navas, Northern Samar, and he was fuming.

Ben is requesting Funfare to remind people not to give in to crooks using his name.

“The modus operandi is in the form of blackmail,” warned Ben. “The impostor(s) would threaten their victims of an exposé in the media by dropping my name or our investigative team Bitag.”

Bitag is the title of Ben’s TV show and it means “trap.”

“Don’t fall into the impostors’ trap,” Ben repeated.
