Yam Concepcion to do another teleserye; hopes to do a noteworthy film

MANILA, Philippines- Yam Concepcion is happy to be more visible on television these days.

Yam was included in the cast of ABS-CBN’s afternoon drama series “Dugong Buhay” in 2013, where she was paired with Ejay Falcon.

The gig opened door of opportunities for her in the mainstream scene, and led her to  be included in another teleserye. She declined to elaborate.

“Mahirap to give details yet kasi baka hindi pa siya ang real details,” she explained. But then she said that “I feel really happy, grateful and really surprised na kumbaga luck din ‘yon, e,” referring to the flow of her showbiz career.

“Kasi siyempre pinaghirapan ko rin, it took a while for me para mapasok ko ang industriya and the whole showbiz thing.”

She also said ABS-CBN noticed her after the showing of her  film “Rigodon”.

“Hindi ko kinahihiya ‘yon,” she said about her sexy film. “Kasi di ba ‘pag naghubad ka they see it differently. But it doesn’t define me as a person, it’s actually a test. But ano, e, do’n mo masasabi na gusto mo talaga ‘yong ginagawa mo.

“Tapos I learned to love the business also, kasi after ng taping pagka-uwi ko masaya ako. I feel fulfilled, na may ginawa akong I can be proud of. So I feel happy and grateful and want to learn more sa business.”

With the year starting well for her, Yam hopes that  she’ll also be given “a really good film na tatatak ng identity ko, kung saan ako matututo and saan ma-hone ang skills ko.”
