From Kapuso with love

MANILA, Philippines - Kapuso artists share how they will celebrate the Day of Hearts.

Aljur Abrenica: I’ll find time to be with my loved ones on Valentine’s Day since I have taping for Kambal Sirena. I also look forward to spend time with my girlfriend with a simple date that would be truly memorable. I’m planning to go on a road trip with her just to be different from the usual Valentine dates.

Yasmien Kurdi: We can celebrate every day because, for me and my husband, it’s always Valentine’s Day. I think we should show or let our loved ones feel how special they are.

Benjamin Alves: I’ll spend it with the people I’ve grown to call family: Our Adarna cast and crew. That special girl will have to wait another day.

Mikael Daez: I’m going to give flowers to the WORLD.

Luis Alandy: If we’re not taping, I don’t have plans yet because most of my friends, they are either married or in a relationship. But maybe at home, I’ll watch DVDs and cry, or watch horror (laughs). But in the past, I would make the girl feel special; just make her feel special throughout the day. It’s a day for lovers to make each other feel special.

Gwen Zamora: After taping, I’ll spend it at my restaurant with my boyfriend. So for everyone who wants to spend their Valentine’s Day with their loved ones, you can go to our restaurant in Makati and celebrate with us. I’m sure it’s going to be a memorable day.

Jake Vargas: I’m probably with Bea (Binene). My plans for that day is a secret for now but definitely there would be a surprise.

Jackie Rice: Hopefully, my boyfriend will visit me on the set on Friday. Between us, he’s the one with full of surprises. He has something for me every day, even if it’s a goldfish or whatever. He’s super sweet. This time, I want him to give me flowers because I haven’t experienced it yet.

Dion Ignacio: Perhaps I will meet my girlfriend for a simple date. We will eat in a fine restaurant. If you’re in a relationship, you’re always happy and every day feels like Valentine’s Day.

Ralph Fernandez: I’m watching the concert of Ogie Alcasid and then I’m going to Bangkok, Thailand the next day. I’m flying with my mom and brother. It’s too crowded eh, it’s not good timing to have a date on that day because everybody is out, doing their thing. I’d rather celebrate during my ordinary days, so, during those special days, I just behave normally.

Michael de Mesa: I will spend my Valentine’s Day probably at home because my wife is in the States. But this Valentine’s Day is more special to me because I promised myself to give a deadline, so I put Feb. 14 as that deadline. I told myself that I’m going to quit smoking, start working out and live a healthier life.

Kristoffer Martin: We have a taping on Friday so I’m not sure if I’ll spend it with Joyce or Kim (co-star in Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw). But if the production team will postpone our taping, I will spend time with my family, especially with my mom. I’ll give her flowers and chocolates, or maybe sing a song for her.

Teejay Marquez: This year, my Valentine’s Day is special because after long years, I will be spending it with my mom. Ngayon ko lang siya nakasama, so medyo bonding kami. After watching Basement, we will eat out because on Feb. 15 she will leave again. The whole day will be for her after my mall show. No special someone muna ngayon.

Enzo Pineda: I just want to have a simple dinner with my loved ones. Since I’ve been very busy, I think the best Valentine gift that I could give is my time, and some peace and quiet with my loved ones. So I think, that’s it. Kasi nagawa ko na lahat eh, surprises and everything. So hopefully, I’ll come with a new idea to add up to that special day. But what’s important is to have a simple dinner without anyone around us, spend time and have a good conversation.

Louise delos Reyes: I have a taping for Kambal Sirena so my Valentine date would be the whole cast of the show. Every day is Valentine’s Day naman kasi, so simple dinner with my loved ones is fine. Who knows, something special will happen on that day di ba?

Kevin Santos: Actually, simple lang naman, I’ll just go out with my family to have dinner. I’m single right now due to my workload. That’s why, I cannot attend to my love life.

RJ Padilla: I’ll spend Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and we’ll watch RoboCop. But before that, I plan to go to church and thank God for all the blessings he has been giving me and my family.

Betong Sumaya: This Valentine’s Day is very special because I’ll spend it with my family. I’m single but I’m still looking and searching because and I’m ready to mingle (laughs). Definitely, I’ll watch Basement with my family.
