Nora, Brillante lead Dangal Awards

MANILA, Philippines - Fifty-seven artists from different fields of arts will be honored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the Ani ng Dangal Awards at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila tomorrow, Feb. 2.

Now on its sixth year, the Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honors) Awards recognizes artists who have earned international accolades during the past year and aims to highlight the artistic brilliance of the Filipinos. The annual event is part of the Philippine Arts Festival (PAF) 2014, NCCA’s grand event in celebration of the National Arts Month every February. Leading the awarding ceremony is NCCA chairman Felipe de Leon Jr.

Among this year’s awardees are Bridgebury Realty Corp. and Maria Cecilia Cruz (architecture); Adrielle Esteban, Alessandra de Rossi, Anita Linda, Auraeus Solito, Barbara Miguel, Briccio Santos, Brillante Mendoza, Dwein Baltazar, Eddie Garcia, Emmanuel Palo, Kidlat Tahimik, Eugene Domingo, Gutierrez “Teng” Mangansakan II, Ian Loreños, Inshallah Montero, Jericho Rosales, Joel Torre, Jun Lana, Nora Aunor, Marilen Magsaysay, Paul Sta.
