Why Matteo is mum on real score with Sarah: ‘Not yet the right time’

MANILA, Philippines – Even though Matteo Guidicello admits Sarah Geronimo is very special to him, the Kapamilya star refused to elaborate on the real score between him and the singer-actress.

Matteo and Sarah were rumored to be a couple since last year, after the two did a show in the US together. However, the rumored couple refused to talk to the press about the state of their relationship.

When asked if he’s currently in love, the 23-year-old actor said: “Basta inspired ako ngayon, masaya naman, walang problema.”

“Gusto ko talaga sabihin pero I don’t think it’s the right time. I wanna respect whatever Sarah and I have. I wanna respect her family and my family. One day po,” Matteo explained during the press conference of his upcoming show, “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles,” on Tuesday, January 28.

He further elaborated: “Gusto ko lang malinaw ang lahat. Gusto ko lang clean ang lahat. I don’t want to disrespect anybody.”

Many are assuming Matteo is keeping mum on the rumored relationship because of Sarah’s parents Divine and Delfine Geronimo. Sarah’s parents are reportedly protective of the 25-year-old singer-actress and are keeping a close eye on their daughter’s personal life.

But Matteo said Sarah’s parents aren’t the only reason why they are silent on the matter.

“Basta in the right time, we’ll say. I don’t want to hide anything. I want to be honest naman with you guys,” Matteo said.

He added, “I guess we just wanna protect whatever Sarah and I have. I have to respect her side and my side. Basta may mga reasons kami na I can’t say. Basta one day, everything will.”

Matteo said he understands why Sarah’s parents are protective over their daughter.

“They’re like regular parents who love their daughter very much,” he said.

But there’s no denying the “Galema: Anak ni Zuma” actor is happy and inspired.

“Basta inspired ako ngayon, masaya naman, walang problema,” Matteo said.

Matteo is currently a Challenge Master with Robi Domingo in the upcoming “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles.” Iza Calzado is fitness reality show’s host, while Jim and Toni Saret serve as the contestants’ fitness coaches.

Fourteen pairs are part of the competition.

The actor, a known triathlete and a former go-kart racer, considers being part of the show as a “dream come true" due to his sports background.

“The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles” will premiere Monday, February 3 on ABS-CBN.
