MANILA, Philippines – “Kung may biktima at inosente dito, wala nang iba kundi ako.”

Thus said Deniece Cornejo, one of the people allegedly behind the attack against actor Vhong Navarro, in a text message sent to GMA-7 as aired on GMA News TV’s afternoon news program “Balitanghali” on Monday, January 27.

RELATEDVhong Navarro: ‘Hindi ako rapist’

This  after Vhong named Cornejo as the 22-year-old student he visited on January 22 at a condominium unit in Taguig City, the place where he was reportedly mauled, in a recently television interview.

Vhong claimed six to seven other men attacked him at Cornejo’s condo unit, including one named Cedric Lee who allegedly pointed a gun at him. The Kapamilya actor and host added he was forced by the group to sign a police blotter stating that he attempted to rape Cornejo. The men, Vhong added, demanded him to pay the girl P1 million.

He also denied that he raped anyone.

But Cornejo said in her statement that she is the victim.

Her whole statement reads: “If you want justice, I will give you the real justice. In the field of women’s rights. The right will always be right.”

“Mataas ang paghanga ko sa mga lalaki na marunong rumespeto at ipagtanggol ang mga kababaihan.”

“Kung may biktima at inosente dito, wala nang iba kundi ako,” the statement added.
