Vhong Navarro’s ex-wife: ‘We will get through this’

MANILA, Philippines – Bianca Lapus is “in shock” over the current state of her former husband Vhong Navarro.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, January 26, the actor-TV host said he was attacked by several men last week in a condominium unit in Taguig City as part of a plot to blackmail him. Vhong also denied earlier reports that he attempted to rape a female friend.

“He is scheduled for an operation on Monday daw. But still under observation. He draws strength from his family, friends, and supporters but especially Bruno and Yce,” Lapus said in a text message sent to ABS-CBN as aired on the morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” on Monday, January 28.

She added, “I am really not good. Like I said I’m still in shock. I am almost four months pregnant now kaya I’m resting kasi di ko talaga kinaya ang stress at pagaalala di ko siya kaya makita.”

The actress said Vhong has her support throughout the ordeal.

“Syempre at the end of the day pamilya pa rin kami naging asawa ko yun, kaibigan ko pa rin siya at mahal ko pa rin,” Bianca said.

“I told his family, the kids and his girlfriend, sa pagsubok na ito we are one family. We will draw strength from each other. Thru prayers, malalagpasan din namin ito.”

Vhong named the people behind the attack in his “Buzz ng Bayan” interview.

The Kapamilya actor has two kids from previous relationships, including a son with Bianca. Vhong and Bianca's marriage was annulled in 2010.

Vhong currently has a non-showbiz girlfriend.

In an interview with GMA-7’s showbiz talk show “Startalk,” Vhong’s lawyer Alma Mallonga said their camp has already started on legal actions against the alleged masterminds of the mauling incident.

“Iyong ginawa sa kanya, katotohanan lang, kung alam ‘nyo lang ang ginawa sa kanya, ay dapat hindi maranasan ng kahit sinong tao. Walang karapatan ang kahit sinong tao na gawin ito sa kapwa niya na pambababoy, pambabastos, pambubugbog, pananakit, pananakot." she said

“And I think Vhong is prepared to do what is necessary dahil sa katotohanan lang, kung ito’y ginawa sa kanya na kilala at meron siyang pangalan, papaano pa ang ibang tao?”
