Vhong Navarro beaten up by group of men

MANILA, Philippines- Vhong Navarro was beaten up by a group of men.

In a report in late night news program “Bandila” Friday, January 24, Vhong’s manager, Director Chito Roño said in a statement that Vhong was invited by a female friend to visit her  in a condominium in The Fort Wednesday night, January 22.

When Vhong  was inside the condominium’s premises, a group of men “sa ‘di pa malamang kadahilanan, siya ay piniringan, pinagtulungang bugbugin, ginapos, tinakot at hiningan ng pera,” Roño said.

Owing to injuries he sustained,  Vhong will not be seen on his regular noontime show “It’s Showtime” and other projects, and might even undergo an operation.

“Si Vhong Navarro ay naimbitahan sa isang condominium unit sa Fort ng isang kaibigang babae. At sa ‘di pa malamang kadahilanan, siya ay piniringan, pinagtulungang bugbugin, ginapos, tinakot at hiningan ng pera ng isang grupo ng kalalakihan noong Jan. 22, Miyerkules. SI Vhong ay kasalukuyang nagpapagaling at mawawala ng pansamantala sa It’s Showtime at iba pa niyang proyekto.”

Meanwhile, the hashtag #ParyForVhongNavarro is now at the second spot of trending topics on Twitter. The hashtag was started by Vhong’s “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda.
