Angel Locsin returns to teleserye as 'The Legal Wife'

MANILA, Philippines - For the first time in three years, Angel Locsin is returning to the teleserye scene.

Angel's last teleserye with ABS-CBN was "Imortal" in 2010, where she starred with John Lloyd Cruz. She now returns to television primetime with "The Legal Wife."

The Kapamilya actress explained in the press launch of “The Legal Wife” Tuesday night that she took a break from teleseryes because she was busy doing films.

Among the films she worked on during the last three years were: “In The Name of Love” with Aga Muhlach, “Unofficially Yours” with John Lloyd Cruz, “One More Try” with Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban, and “Four Sisters and a Wedding” with Toni Gonzaga, Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao, and Enchong Dee.

She said she wasnt' really missing from the television scene since she has her regular show, "Toda Max," a sitcom also starring Robin Padilla and Vhong Navarro.

“Ayoko po kasi talaga magsabay ng pelikula at teleserye,” Angel added. “Kasi gusto ko po mabibigay ko ‘yong buong atensyon ko sa isang project.”

She also said that she’s been waiting for the right project that will fulfil her “hunger” as an actress. “Kasi siyempre sayang naman ‘yong pagkakataon kung lahat ng trabaho gagawin natin pero hindi ka naman masaya o di ka naman naniniwala sa proyekto."

She said that her three years of waiting for the right teleserye project was worth it.

“So finally, nabigyan nga ako ng Diyos ng The Legal Wife at tama naman, tama naman na naghintay ako ng tatlong taon para sa proyektong ‘to,” she said.

Angel said the new teleserye's plot intrigued and challenged her.

She will play the role of Monica, the wife whose husband Adrian (Jericho Rosales) had an affair with Nicole (Maja Salvador). She fights for her marriage and her right as a wife.

When asked if she ever experienced being cheated on Angel replied: “Siguro ibabalik ko lang din ho ang tanong, sino ba sa inyo ang hindi?” which she followed with a smile.

Then she adds, “Kaya itong Legal Wife po talaga, kaya paulit-ulit kong sinasabi na kuwento po natin ‘tong lahat, kuwento ng pag-ibig na dapat po natin subaybayan.”

“The Legal Wife” will start on January 27 at the primetime block of ABS-CBN.
