MANILA, Philippines- After a two-year absence in the concert scene, Sitti Navarro is very glad to be able to have a show again in a venue like Music Museum.
After she performed her opening song “Para Sa ‘yo†in her concert Saturday night, January 18, Sitti said, “It was nice to perform again with a crowd like this and with a venue like this.â€
The start of her concert was like a blast from the past of her singing career. Some of the songs that she performed during the first part of the concert were her popular renditions of “Tattooed,†“Kung Di Lang Din Ikaw†and “Mas Que Nada.â€
This was immediately followed by performances from her first guest that night, Nyoy Volante, who Sitti described as “the guy who is sweet to his girlfriend and previous girlfriends.â€
The acoustic singer serenaded the crowd with the songs “Ipagpatawad Mo†and “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin.â€
After Nyoy’s performance, Sitti is back on the stage and performed “breakup†songs which were from her previous albums.
Two songs are memorable for her: “End It With You,†which is, according to Sitti, a song she hasn’t performed for a very long time and “Sino Mag-aakala,†a very personal song for the Bossa Nova singer. .
Sitti relates, “For a very long time, sabi ko sa RM (road manager) ko, ‘Kelan ko ba kakantahin ‘to na may laman?’ Ngayon, may laman na.†She then smiled looking at her non-showbiz boyfriend Joey, who was seated among the audience.
Sitti’s second guest, The Dawn’s vocalist, Jett Pangan, rocked the night.
Jett performed two songs: “Wala Ka Pa,†which he dedicates to everyone who is still in search of something in their life, and "Foolish Heart," which transformed the rocker temporarily into a balladeer.
“Ayan, puwede na raw akong balladeer. Puwede na tayong mag-duet next time, Sitti,†Jeff told the crowd after his performance. The worked together in the past in stage musicals "Spring Awakening" and "Nine."
For the last part of her concert, Sitti performed some hits from her latest album “Bossa Love,†her first album under her new recording company MCA Music.
To the delight of her fans, she performed “Wasn’t Me,†Lost Without You,†Back To You,†Stickwitu,†I Want It That Way,†and Smooth†in her signature Bossa Nova-infused style.
Before she performed her last song “Thank You,†her boyfriend Joey approached the stage and handed her a bouquet of flowers that made every one cheered. Though blushing herself, Sitti teased the crowd, laughing: “Kinilig sila, o."
She capped the night singing and dancing along with some Spanish songs which was requested by some of her fans.
