MANILA, Philippines - Kris Aquino admitted that the box-office competition during the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival affected her friendship with Vice Ganda.

The two starred in competing movies during last year’s MMFF: Kris starred in and co-produced “My Little Bossings” while Vice is the lead star of “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy.”

This is after both Kris and Vice starred in “Sisterakas,” an entry in the 2012 MMFF.

“Let's be honest, siyempre may effect sa amin,” the actress-TV host said in her own realty talk show “Kris TV” on Monday, January 13.

Kris noted that all’s well between her and Vice now.

“The night before mag-showing (December 24), he texted me. He said, 'Whatever happens, know that I love you ha.' Hindi ko pa siya sinagot noon kasi na-affect naman ako sa paulit ulit niyang sinabi na 'Kris, tatalunin ka namin’.”

During media interview while promoting “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” Vice was open about his desire to beat Kris’ “My Little Bossings” at the box-office.

Kris added: “I was honest. Sabi ko, ‘Ikaw naman, sa promo, kailangan pa bang banggitin ako.' Sabi ko tanggap ko naman.”

The fact that Vice and her “My Little Bossings” co-stars Vic Sotto and Ryzza Ma Dizon appear in competing noontime shows could have also played part in their rivalry, Kris mused. Vice co-hosts ABS-CBN's "It's Showtime," while Vic and Ryzza are part of GMA-7's "Eat Bulaga."

“Parang ang friendship siguro goes through phases, hindi ba? It just so happened that this was a rivalry,” she said.

Kris announced last week that she will remain with ABS-CBN last week after days of speculations about her status as a Kapamilya.
