John Prats: Isabel Oli and I are not yet engaged

MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya star John Prats denied that he and girlfriend Isabel Oli are planning to get married soon.

Netizens were abuzz over the holidays when the 29-year-old actor posted a photo of himself kissing Isabel’s forehead on Instagram. The caption for the photo goes: ““#Happynewyear @isabelolifee next year magkasama na tayo pag pasko at bagong taon ah;) #happynewyear din sa family mo;) God bless sa lahat.”

This fanned rumors that the two are already engaged.

But John shrugged off the speculations.

“Malalaman n’yo naman yan sa takdang panahon,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN’s primetime news program “TV Patrol” aired Tuesday, January 7.

The “Banana Split” mainstay added: “Ako nga, whenever they ask me or kung may taong nagtatanong sa akin kung kailan, bakit ko naman sasabihin, di ba? E di parang nauna pa yung tao kay Liv (Isabel’s nickname).”

"Gusto ko lang maging espesyal yung araw na yun kung darating yun. At kung kailan, hindi na alam, hindi niya pwedeng malaman."

As in previous interviews, John described his relationship with Isabel as “relaxed.”

“Basta sobrang enjoy kami. Sobrang happy ako sa relasyong ito… Wala akong hihilingin pa. Wala kang hihilingin pa sa isang Isabel Oli,” he said.

In the same TV interview, Isabel said: “Ako, whenever I enter in a relationship, gusto ko talaga nay un na. Serious talaga ako sa mga relationships.”

In an interview with Philstar.com and other members of the press last October, John said girlfriend Isabel is already ready to settle down.

John and Isabel became a couple last year. John was previously romantically involved with Rachelle Anne Go and Bianca Manalo, while Isabel broke up with Gab Valenciano in 2012.
