Bela Padilla enjoys both action, dramatic roles
MANILA, Philippines- Bela Padilla has recently found herself working on a number of action projects and the trend seems to be continuing.
First of which is the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “10,000 Hours,†followed by their upcoming film “Sa Ngalan ng Ama, ng Ina, at ng mga Anak†which will be in cinemas this January.
“No naman,†Bela replied when asked if this is the career path that she would like to take. “Although I wouldn’t say no to doing it again kasi I enjoyed it so much. So I don’t want to close my mind na puro action na lang gagawin ko.â€
First known for playing teeny-bopper roles, Bela eventually graduated to drama series and then given roles of an antagonist. Doing action roles, the Kapuso actress says, is a breath of fresh air.
“I don’t want to be known for doing only one thing,†she said about the different roles she portrays. “I want the people to realize that I can do other things also. So lahat naman gusto ko subukan and lahat naman gusto ko i-try.â€
Singaporean TV Series
Meanwhile, besides local projects, unknown to many, Bela has also joined a Singaporean TV series last year.
She’s one of the new cast in the fourth season of the TV series “Point of Entry,†together with another Filipino actor RK Bagatsing. Bela plays the role of Analyn Ocampo.
Though she worked on a foreign project, this doesn’t mean that Bela will be pursuing an international career.
“I don’t know what the gauge is to have an international career,†she said. “But I guess this is a start and I’m thankful to the whole team of Point of Entry for getting me. I’m happy that I auditioned for it and it’s something that I’d love to consider doing in the future again.â€
With all these projects she has done in the year 2013, Bela believes that the new year will open a lot of opportunities for her.
“So I’m very thankful that I got both projects and hoping na mas marami akong makuhang projects dahil sa performance ko sa dalawang yun.â€
