Focused on work, Valerie Concepcion in no rush to fall in love again

MANILA, Philippines – After playing a villain in GMA’s “Anna Karenina,” Valerie Concepcion is now part of ABS-CBN show “Annaliza.”

She’s the newest character of the show where she plays the role of Gigi.

Valerie doesn’t have an exclusive contract with any network, which makes it easier for her to accept projects. This is a good thing for her since she would like to focus on her career more after her breakup with PBA player Dondon Hontiveros.

The two called it quits last year, which also means the cancellation of their supposed wedding. Yet, Valerie has no regrets whatsoever about her decision not to tie the knot yet.

For now, the actress is enjoying the “dating stage” where she gets to meet and know some guys who someday might win her heart.

“I came from a four-year relationship, parang gusto ko muna i-enjoy yung single life ko,” she said. “Kasi I met my ex nineteen years old ako, naghiwalay kami ng 24 ako.

Aside from getting to meet new people and having more time with her daughter Fiona and her showbiz career, Valerie also enjoys being able to travel either alone or with friends. Just like recently, she went to States with her best friend.

Valerie then opened up about the scheduling conflict she and Dondon often experienced.

“Kasi before kapag gusto mag-travel hindi nagtutugma ang schedule namin — may shooting ako, siya naman walang practice, kapag naman wala akong show, siya naman may practice,” she recalls.

“So never kami nag-out of the country, never sa five years. So ngayon biglang nakapagbakasyon ako sa ganito, feeling ko yun ang pinaka-enjoy ko the most kasi I enjoy travelling, e.”

But now, the 26-year-old actress is not in a hurry to find new love. She wants to take her time, experience the things she missed out, and meet more people who can help her grow more as a person.

“So feeling ko I’m not in the rush to get married.

So I think yun ang pinakanilu-look forward ko.”
