KC Concepcion describes 2013 as a ‘fulfilling year’

MANILA, Philippines – KC Concepcion believes 2013 was the year when she finally received acceptance from the public and critics as an actress.

Speaking to the entertainment press recently, the 28-year-old actress said doing the primetime drama “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” was the highlight of her year. Her performance in the said series, which starred Judy Ann Santos, won her a Supporting Actress award at the 2013 PMPC Star Awards for Television.

“It’s a good year, very fulfilling year,” she said.

KC added: “Parang sulit lahat ng pinagdaanan ko in the past two to three years. Kasi parang sabi ko, ‘Lord, kung ito naman ang kapalit, naiintindihan ko na kung bakit ko kailangan pagdaanan lahat yun’.”

“And sana, tuloy-tuloy ko siyang makitang namumunga and makita ko kung ano ang dahilan kung bakit ko napagdaanan yung mga heartaches ko noon. Kasi parang sulit naman yung rewards ko ngayon.”

Despite having a good 2013, the actress has no expectations for the coming year.

“Next year, ayoko mag-expect kasi itong taon na ito parang di ko talaga plinano,” she said.

“Dati nagplaplano ako kung ano mangyayari in three years, in five years na dumating sa point na ayoko na magplano, si God na lang bahala.”

'Very close'

She also does not want to expect an acting award for her role in “Boy Golden,” an entry in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Magiging maganda pag ganun (win an award) yung nangyari pero ayoko mag-expect,” KC shared.

The Kapamilya star is content in the fact that her mother, TV5 star Sharon Cuneta, is excited for her as an actress.

“Sa totoo lang, simula nung ‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,’ first time kong maramdaman yung pati nanay ko tinanggap na ako bilang aktres. Malaking bagay po sa akin yun,” she said.

Is she planning to watch “Pagpag,” the MMFF entry which stars Paulo Avelino?

“Ako po kapag MMFF nanonood ako ng lahat (ng entries), parang part na yun ng tradition ng Pinoy, di ba?” she said.

Asked about her status with Paulo—who recently admitted dating the “Boy Golden” actress—KC said: “We’re very close. I can say we’re close.”

“Wala pa akong masasabi about that kasi, ayokong masalita about anything. Pero isa siya sa pinakamalapit sa akin right now,” she added.
