Jessy Mendiola thankful for year 2013

Jessy Mendiola says 2013 is the most unforgettable year in her showbiz career.

MANILA, Philippines – If there will be a year that Jessy Mendiola won’t forget, it will be the year 2013.

From the latter part of year 2012, Jessy’s success was carried over to 2013 with the series of projects that came her way.

“Masaya po ako na malakas ang pagtanggap ng mga tao sa Maria Mercedes, sa mga nangyayari sa akin ngayong taon,” the Kapamilya actress said in an interview Thursday afternoon, December 12.

“I must admit, it wasn’t really na parang hindi siya palaging happy year. I mean, hindi palaging happy ang moments ko this year. But meron din mga low moments, sad moments. But overall, it’s a very worthy year for me. Sobrang hindi ko makakalimutan itong year na ito sa buong buhay ko.”

One of the low moments in her life is the “almost” relationship with her “Paraiso” leading man Matteo Guidicelli, who is now being linked to Sarah Geronimo.

But instead of taking it negatively, Jessy believes that it even presented more opportunities for her.

“In my 2013 a lot of things happened,” she contemplated. “I can say that you have to experience those things so you will know how to handle things the next time. Or it’s a sign from God, He knows the right time, that this is the one for you.

“Maria Mercedes, all blessings are coming in and I’m so happy. And sabi nga nila, kapag may nagsara na pinto, may nagbubukas. So ito siguro yun, ito yung blessings na binibigay sa akin ng Diyos na sabi Niya, ‘wag muna love life, ito muna tayo.’”

But with her beauty and talent, guys can’t help but admire her. Take for instance Sam Milby and Jake Cuenca, who have already confessed their admiration to her.

The 21-year-old actress, however, is not yet ready to get in a relationship and would like to focus first on her career.

“I told them, especially Sam, na I’m not ready yet,” she said. “If he’s willing to wait, he can wait. If he decides to go the other way, he’s free to go.”

“Ako kasi parang I really can‘t say now and I really don’t want to assume things, or like minamadali ko lahat ng bagay,” she adds. “Kasi ayaw ko ipilit. If hindi talaga, hindi. Sabi nga nila, let things go and let things fall in their place, and I’m doing that. I just let it go, I just let flow freely. If it happens, it will happen. If not, it’s not for you. “

If plans on settling down are tackled, Jessy thinks that her ideal age to wed is around 28 to 33 years old.

But if the love card doesn’t fall on her side, what else is in store for her?

“I’ll go travel the world and have 12 cats,” Jessy said.
