Bea sings from the heart

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Bea Binene has released a new album titled Dito Sa Puso Ko under PolyEast Records. It’s the 16-year-old Kapuso artist’s follow-up to her successful debut album Hey It’s Me, Bea!.

Bea says, “I really enjoyed doing the album…It’s like playing but creating something that I am really proud of at the same time.”

After dropping her debut CD last year (which reached platinum status), Bea immediately headed back to the studio to record tunes for Dito Sa Puso Ko despite her busy schedule.

“My new album has more songs to offer to my fans and this time, we invited Ken Chan as my guest in the album. The songs were chosen by my label, except for few songs I chose myself,” Bea adds. Ken is a fellow GMA artist and co-host in the late-night show Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman.

As the album title suggests, Bea speaks of teenage love and having fun. The album’s kick-off single is Dito Sa Puso Ko which was originally interpreted and composed by Ogie Alcasid.

All in all, the album features 10 tracks, including remakes that will remind of ’80s to ’90s bubblegum pop such as Sharon Cuneta’s Highschool Life, DJ Alvaro’s Ang Tipo Kong Lalaki, Ogie’s Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang (a duet with Ken) and Lea Salonga’s Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal. Asa Ka Pa is the only original track in the album.

Bea says, “Having a career in music has always been in my bucket list since I was a kid. Now, I started learning how to play the guitar. I’ve been playing the guitar with songs from the new album.”

Bea stars on GMA’s comedy sitcom Vampire Ang Daddy Ko with Vic Sotto and is part of GMA News TV’s Good News .
