MWWF holds 1st Gintong Palad Service Awards

MANILA, Philippines - The first Movie Writers Welfare Foundation (MWWF) held its first Gintong Palad Service Awards last Nov. 20 at the One Esplanade, Pasay City.

Among the awardees were (top, from left) Philippine STAR president/CEO Miguel Belmonte, for business sector; Robin Padilla, for ‘being supportive of the Muslim community;’ MOWELFUND’s Boots Anson-Roa and Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas, government service; and Marian Rivera, charity work; and (above, also from left) Angel Locsin, charity work; Solar head Wilson Tieng (special awardee) and Ricky Reyes, for his Child Haus project; Laguna Gov. E.R. Ejercito (special awardee); and Jolina Magdangal for her work for Angels Foundation.

Another awardee was former QC Councilor Ariel Inton who authored a QC ordinance raising the movie-ticket prices by P1 in QC theaters in May with MWWF as beneficiary.

The Movie Writers Welfare Foundation (MWWF) started in 1998, which aims to promote, enhance and improve the welfare of entertainment press in the Philippines.
