MANILA, Philippines - The Christmas season won’t be complete without a trip to the Big Dome to watch a spectacular Disney on Ice show. For more than two decades now, the iconic Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and the rest of well-loved Disney characters have provided holiday cheer to Disney fans, both young and old. This year, the world’s most famous ice show celebrates its 23rd year in the Philippines, and it promises to be a Christmas presentation like no other.
“We’ve chosen some of the greatest gems from the Disney treasure chest for this production,†says producer Nicole Feld. “We went through our entire portfolio of Disney On Ice shows, trying to bring something very different to audiences. We wanted to pick action-packed stories that really resonated with not only kids today, but with their parents as well. Treasure Trove has everything from the swashbuckling pirates in Peter Pan to the comedic duo Timon and Pumbaa in The Lion King.â€
For this year’s “ice-spectacular†show features 50 Disney characters. Get tangled up with Rapunzel and Flynn, and enter the worlds of other Disney princesses — Tiana, Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Mulan and Snow White. Set sail with Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Captain Hook in Neverland; trek the savannah with Simba, Nala, Pumbaa and Timon; and set a date with Alice and the Mad Hatter as they march with the Queen of Heart’s army of cards.
