MANILA, Philippines - Today on Born Impact, the vets encounter stray dogs that badly need help.
Doc Ferds Recio needs to perform a major surgery on a stray dog that was hit by a car. Because the dog’s hind leg bone broke into two and is already infected, the affected leg needs to be amputated. With the help of two other vets, Doc Ferds performs the major surgery, but will thedog still live a functional life after this?
In Quezon City, Doc Nielsen Donato encounters a mixed breed with a papaya-sized tumor in its belly. The dog has been seen roaming around a village and the dog’s grave condition has caught the attention of concerned citizens. Doc Nielsen finds the stray dog in an abandoned house, but will the dog let Nielsen restrain him to have a closer look at the tumor?
Stray dogs are more vulnerable to diseases because they roam free, and are therefore more exposed to the street environment where they can possibly acquire diseases from other sickdogs. Doc Ferds and Doc Nielsen shed light on the poor conditions these animals suffer after being abandoned or left in the streets, and show how caring people can help save them.
Born Impact airs Sundays at 9:30 a.m. after AHA! on GMA 7.
