MANILA, Philippines - Norris John was awarded Most Promising Actor-Indie Performing Arts at the recent 12th Gawad American Awards held in LA.

He has appeared in several indie films including Batang Ifugao (title role, his mother is an Ifugao), Binatilyo (with Jao Mapa), Ken at Abel (with Dan Alvaro), Gabriel (with Joyce Ching, Lester Lansang and Simon Ibarra), Dulas, Tagsibol, Babaeng Bastusin and Boy Onse.

Norris, 21, is a Japino from Solano, Nueva Ecija. He speaks fluent Japanese (his father is Japanese), Filipino, English and Ilocano. He has a degree in Computer Science (from AMA) and is currently taking up Civil Engineering at Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
