Phoemela Barranda denies Anne Curtis' ‘I can buy you’ statement

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Model-actress Phoemela Barranda denied that Anne Curtis uttered the words “I can buy you, your friends, and this club” during the Kapamilya actress’ reported nightclub incident at a luxury club recently.

According to the initial report, Anne allegedly slapped John Lloyd Cruz, JR Isaac and Leah De Guzman at Prive Luxury Club in Taguig City on Nov. 23.

The Kapamilya star also reportedly pointed her finger at Phoemela and said, “I buy you, your friends, and this club!” The said line has caught on with local netizens and even become the inspiration for numerous viral Internet memes.

But in an interview with ABS-CBN’s primetime newscast “TV Patrol,” the 33-year-old model said: “Hindi niya sinabi sa akin yun.”

Phoemela added, “Walang ganun na nangyari o sinabi sa akin si Anne. And… hindi rin niya ako dinuro. She wasn’t angry at me. Walang ganung pangyayari.”

The model-actress admitted Anne did say something at her — “but because galit na siya sa ibang individuals dun.”

However, Phoemela refused to reveal what Anne said since the “It’s Showtime” co-host already apologized to her.

“I’m not in the position to make kwento or to say kung ano yung nangyari dun sa may banyo because I was on the other side of the VIP area. So, kung ano man yung nangyari, I can only say kung ano yung nangyari sa amin ni Anne,” she said, adding that the details of the incident may have already changed as it was passed on from person to person.

Yesterday, Dec. 3, Jake Cuenca also denied he and John Lloyd pulled a prank on Anne, which caused her confrontation with Isaac and the other parties.
