Philippine Superliga Grand Prix

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After a couple of action-packed games, the men of the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix are set to take their battles to the next level when the tournament enters the semi-finals round.

Despite losing in five sets to the Sisig Kings a few weeks back, the Richard Gomez-led Speed Boosters still managed to pull off two 3-0 triumphs against their other competitors to end the preliminary round with a score of eight, good for the first seed.

In the semi-finals, they’ll face the win-less Maybank Tigers, the fourth seed, who they swept in the last day of the league’s first round.

The other semis matchup, Giligan’s vs. Systema Active, will feature two guys who faced off many times during their UAAP days: AJ Pareja and JP Torres.

The women’s division, on the other hand, is still waiting for the RC Cola Raiders and Petron Blaze Spikers to garner momentum in order to make a late push before the start of tournament’s next round.
