The Ministry of Tourism in the mid-’70s commissioned Gina Lollobrigida to come up with a coffee-table book on Manila, with the Italian actress herself taking photos of the country’s scenic and historic spots.
Lollobrigida was in the country in 1975 to fulfill the assignment. The cover of the book showed the First Lady, Imelda Marcos, posing in a colorful dress with the facade of the Cultural Center of the Philippines as backdrop.
While in Manila, Lollobrigida graced the cover of Ginoo with model-actor Raul Roa Monasterio.
