Steven Silva part of ‘Kitchen Musical’ season 2

MANILA, Philippines- Four more Filipino artists are  set to join  the series “Kitchen Musical.”

In 2011, four Filipino artists  starred in the series namely Karylle, Christian Bautista, Thou Reyes, and Art Acuña.

For next year, Filipino artists Kate Alejandrino, Dax Martin, Red Concepcion, and Steven Silva will join the cast.

Among the four, Steven is often seen on television. He is  part of GMA 7’s Sunday variety show “Sunday All Stars” and the primetime series “Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas”, which stars Lovi Poe and Roco Naccino.

But  the chance of doing everything he loves—singing, acting, and cooking— all at once  led him to audition for the show.

The audition process for the show took three to four months, recalled Steven in an interview Thursday nigh.

Though it has been a long process, it was all worth it when Steven made it to the final cast of the show, which is a spin-off of the first season of “Kitchen Musical.”

“Ako si Sid,” he said describing his role. “I’m a pastry chef, siya ang gumagawa ng pastry, ng baked goods sa kitchen. At ssaka bago pa lang siya pumasok sa kitchen. When they expanded the restaurant, they were asking new chefs to join, and I’m one of the new chefs."

Since Steven will be working alongside Christian, who is one of the original cast members of the show, he didn’t hesitate to  latter for tips and pieces of advice.

“So I was asking him how was the process, basta ang sabi niya sobrang saya siya. It’s really a once in a lifetime experience, sabi niya nakakapagod siya but at the same time very fulfilling.”

This series will be aired in the Lifestyle channel by next year, and will be shown to international audience.

Steven admits that this show is a stepping stone for something bigger in his career,that could even lead to an acting career abroad. But for now, the Kapuso actor is still indecisive whether to pursue an international acting career or not.

“If ever na dumating yung opportunity na yun, I’ll think about it,” he said. “Siyempre naka-base ako sa Pilipinas, dito yung family ko, friends, and this is all I know. I mean, that’s a big opportunity but so far wala pa. Pero if ever I’ll think about it.”
