Differentiation: A Whole School Approach (PCGE & PAG Annual Convention) is set for Nov. 29 to 30 at the Luxent Hotel, Quezon City, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Teachers practice differentiation every day, but they might not realize it. What is differentiation? Why is it important to plan options for differentiation to meet the needs of high-ability learners? The workshop gives an overview of the concept and a chance to discuss issues and concerns relevant to schools in the Philippines. Dr. Laurie Croft of the Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education, University of Iowa will run the workshop on Differentiation and the Whole School Program. Topics for the two-day workshop are Inspiring Gifted Learners through Higher-Level Challenges; Renzulli’s Enrichment Triad; Low-Preparation Differentiation and High-Prep Differentiation; The Parallel Curriculum Model: Possibilities for the Philippines and Creative Problem Solving.

Fly A Kite for the Gifted is set for Dec. 1, 1 p.m. onwards at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

PCGE takes part in the Internatonal Year of Giftedness and Creativity 2013, a worldwide celebration led by the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children. WCGTC president-elect Leslie Graves invites gifted children to draw, design or model colorful kites.
