Pokemon the movie goes to the Philippines

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines-  From a video game, to trade cards, to TV show, and to film, "Pokemon" has been loved by the young from all over the world.

Tthis year, they have a special treat for the "Pokemon" fans here in the Philippines as they bring for the first time here  the "Pokemon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened,"  the 16th movie installment of "Pokemon" in Japan.

According to Marilu Magsaysay-Corpus, the CEO of Click!, which manages the licensing of "Pokemon" here in the Philippines, after the makers of Pokemon underwent company changes, the company decided to directly approach the country they would like to reach, and for the Philippines, it was through them.

Here, Ash and his best friend and pocket monster Pikachu, will have to save another city as it was threatened to be destroyed by Five Genesect,  led by Red Genesec after  finding the city fitting to be their new habitat.

As this mythical creature appeared, a legendary Pokemon named Mewtwo sympathizes with them, yet Red Genesect's mistrust of him happens to bring a bigger destruction to the city. With powerful Pokemons involved, will Ash and his friends save the city?

Catch "Pokemon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened" on selected SM cinemas for one week, which started  November 13. The good news is, if they get a good feedback, chances are they'll be in more theaters for two more weeks!

Another treat that Pokemon fans should look forward to is the TV airing of "Pokemon XY," which is targeted to be available in the Philippines by August 2014.
