MANILA, Philippines – Comedian-TV host Joey de Leon took to social media to comment on the ongoing coverage of media organizations on the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda in storm-hit areas in the Visayas.

On his official Twitter account, the “Eat Bulaga” host commended the “real and honest reportage” of international news networks such as CNN and BCC while slamming local media.

Without pertaining to anyone, Joey asked not to bash international organizations because “dahil sa kanila kaya buong mundo are sending help to us now.”

The veteran comedian did not say who the comment was specifically for.

Joey’s comment comes after Korina Sanchez described the reports of “a blonde reporter ng CNN” as “mali-mali,” who netizens assumed was CNN reporter Anderson Cooper Aside from his report on CNN, Cooper also posted several tweets describing what he saw in Tacloban, which is one of the most affected areas in Visayas by typhoon Yolanda.

Cooper said on his Twitter account the people in Tacloban “deserve better than what they have gotten” as “the search and rescue never materialized.”

Sanchez is the wife of Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, who is one of the Cabinet members in charge of the relief operations for typhoon victims.

The “Eat Bulaga” also retweeted the Twitter post of his daughter Jocas de Leon on the issue.

Kapatid star Sharon Cuneta also weighed in on the issue.

The Philippine Entertainment Portal reported that Korina flew to Ormoc City, Leyte to investigate the relief efforts in the area.
