Richard on marriage with Sarah: ‘We wanna focus on what’s in front of us’

MANILA, Philippines – Will viewers soon see a new addition to the Gutierrez family?

This is the question members of the entertainment press jokingly asked Richard Gutierrez and the other members of his family when they revealed on Thursday, November 7 that they will soon appear in a family reality show titled “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez.”

The question, of course, pertains to the months-long rumor that Richard now has a child with girlfriend, Sarah Lahbati.

The 29-year-old actor said “there is a right time” for them to answer if there is indeed a new baby in the Gutierrez family.

“Mas maganda yon kaysa pinipilit ng mga tao kung ano yung dapat naming sabihin,” he said.
“Pero abangan nyo na lang. Right now, marami ngang nangyayari sa buhay namin ni Sarah. I think there will be a perfect time sa kung ano man yung inaabangan ninyong sasagutin namin.”

So are they denying the issue? “We’re not denying nor confirming,” Richard said.

But Sarah is, no doubt, now an integral part of Richard’s life. The two recently traveled Switzerland and United States while Richard is on a sabbatical from his showbiz career. This is, Richard said, it won’t be surprising if Sarah makes appearances in their upcoming reality show.

“Of course, kung ise-share ko ang buhay ko sa harapan ng camera, kailangan mai-share ko yung buong buhay ko. Yes, of course, Sarah is part of my life. Huwag na lang ma-surprise ang mga tao if she’s gonna come out on the show once in a while,” he said.

Richard further explained, “I’m not saying that she’s gonna be part of the show the whole time but sa show once in a while, expect that.”

Is marriage in the offing for the two?

“I think, masyadong malaking decision ‘yan for now. Now, we wanna focus on what’s in front of us. There’s a lot of things that need to be settled. So, we’ll take it one day at a time,” Richard said.
