Evasive Matteo still mum on rumored romance with Sarah

MANILA, Philippines – Reports continue to insist that there’s a budding romance between Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo. But like the Kapamilya singer, the 23-year-old actor is coy and evasive about the real status of his relationship with Sarah.

Asked for the state of his heart during the conference for the 9th Cinema One Originals film festival, Matteo told members of the press: “Super blessed. Very happy, very inspired.”

But then, he continued: “Dahil November 11 na yung ‘Saturday Night Chills’.”

“Saturday Night Chills,” which also stars Kapamilya actors Rayver Cruz and Joseph Marco, is one of the entries in the upcoming Cinema One Originals.

Matteo also refused to comment when asked how it was working with Rayver. Rayver, it can be recalled, was romantically linked to Sarah a few years ago.

During the interview, Rayver said he and Matteo have long been friends even before they were linked to Sarah. “Hindi ko pa siya nakakatrabaho, matagal ko ng kaibigan si Matteo,” he said. “Kahit ano mangyari, comfortable talaga kami.”

To this, Matteo replied: “Rayver’s close to my heart.”

Did Matteo ask for permission from anyone before working with Rayver?

“I just wish to be like Rayver,” Matteo quipped. “He can dance very well and I idolize him. He has the moves.”

Matteo, of course, is less evasive when it comes to talking about his role in “Saturday Night Chills,” which is his second independent film, following “Paglaya sa Tanikala.”

“Mahirap lahat, good boy po kasi ako,” he said of his role. “Pero it was a great experience, working with direk Ian,” he said.

“The most important thing is we really enjoyed doing the movie,” he also said. “Sobrang bagong experience ito.”

The 9th Cinema One Originals film festival runs from November 11 to 19 at the Glorietta, Trinoma, and Robinsons Galleria cinemas.
