Rayver on rumored Matteo-Sarah romance: ‘Basta kung saan masaya ang bawat isa’

MANILA, Philippines – Rayver Cruz said Matteo Guidicelli’s rumored romance with singer Sarah Geronimo has not affected their personal and professional relationship.

Rayver and Matteo are both in the movie “Saturday Night Chills,” which among the 15 films included in the upcoming Cinema One Originals film festival.

Speaking to Philstar.com and other members of the press on Tuesday, Nov. 5, Rayver said he and Matteo are friends even before they were linked to Sarah.

It can be remembered that Rayver was romantically linked to Sarah a few years ago.

“Wala namang epekto sa akin yung mga yun. Bago pa man mangyari lahat ng ito, bago pa lumabas yung issues, kaibigan ko na si Matteo,” Rayver said.

He further explained: “Kasi nga, parehas kaming taga-south, parehas kami ng trainer, parehas kami ng pinagwo-work out-an. Plus, lumalabas din kami, kasi magkakaibigan kami. So, parang hindi makakaapekto sa amin yun.”

STAR entertainment editor Ricky Lo reported last month that Sarah and Matteo are “officially on.” In a subsequent interview with Lo and other reporters for her upcoming concert, Sarah remained mum on the issue.

What if?

The 24-year-old actor said he does not see the need to talk to Matteo about his past with Sarah.

However, “Kahit pagusapan, I think hindi na talaga makakaapekto,” Rayver said.

What if the rumored romance between Matteo and Sarah is indeed true?

“Basta kung saan masaya ang bawat isa,” Rayver said.

“Si Matteo, nakikita ko namang masaya siya ngayon, pag dumarating sa shooting. So, happy ako. Kaibigan ko yun, e,” he added.

Asked to elaborate why he Matteo is happy recently, Rayver said, laughing: “Oo e, happy e. Sabi niya, ang dami raw niyang work.”

Rayver and Matteo star in ‘Saturday Night Chills” with Joseph Marco as part of the 9th Cinema One Originals Festival. The festival will run from Nov. 11-10 at Glorietta, Trinoma and Robinsons Galleria cinemas.
